What Is on Deck 14 of Icon of the Seas?
Deck 14 on Icon of the Seas is mostly staterooms, with The Overlook lounge at the very front and the upper level of the Vitality Spa just behind it. It sits directly under the pools, the Windjammer and The Hideaway on Deck 15. Icon has no Deck 13, so the deck below is Deck 12.
The Deck 14 plan shows 319 rooms, numbered 14138 to 14762. It’s the only deck with traditional Central Park balconies, and all 12 of the ship’s Panoramic Ocean View rooms are here. Deck 14 is one of 18 decks in our Icon of the Seas deck plans guide.

Icon of the Seas Deck 14 Deck Plan
Read the Deck 14 plan from front to back. The Overlook fills the curved front of the deck. Behind it, the Panoramic Ocean View rooms sit on both sides, with the Vitality Spa, the To Dry For salon and the Vitality Cafe in the middle.
Past the forward elevators, Ocean View Balconies run down both outer sides of the ship. On the inside, facing Central Park, are the Central Park View Balconies, 14183 to 14257 on one side and 14585 to 14627 on the other.
Behind the aft elevators, the inside rooms turn to face Surfside, and the Ocean View Balconies continue along the outer sides. The deck ends with a row of Ocean View Balconies across the back of the ship.
The Overlook on Deck 14
The Overlook is a lounge and bar at the very front of Deck 14, with floor-to-ceiling windows. Guest reviews describe 160-degree ocean views, right above the ship’s bridge. One level up, on Deck 15, are The Overlook Pods, raised seating nooks where you can settle in with a drink or a board game. Early previews counted 112 seats in the lounge and 52 in the pods.
It’s a peaceful spot in the morning. Guest reviews say it gets loud only when an AquaTheater show is being performed or rehearsed next door, and that teens like to gather there after dinner.
The Vitality Spa and Vitality Cafe on Deck 14
Icon’s Vitality Spa is on two levels. Deck 14 has the upper level, with To Dry For, a hair salon and blow-dry bar, and the Vitality Cafe, which serves smoothies, juices and light bites (the smoothies may cost extra). The spa’s lower level is on Deck 12. All spa treatments cost extra, and Royal Caribbean adds a 20% gratuity. Icon’s Fitness Center is not here; it’s on Decks 5 and 6.
Central Park Balconies on Deck 14
Deck 14 has the ship’s only traditional Central Park View Balconies, 42 of them. These have a door out to a separate balcony, about 50 square feet, over the park. The infinite park balconies on Decks 10, 11 and 12 are different: there, the window lowers and the balcony is part of the room.
On the plan, 19 of the 42 sleep 4 and the rest sleep 3. Many of them connect in pairs, one that sleeps 4 and one that sleeps 3, for up to 7 people side by side. As with all the park rooms, balconies face each other across the park, so you’ll want the curtains closed at times.
Other Staterooms on Deck 14
- Panoramic Ocean View: 12 rooms at the front, 14138 to 14148 and 14538 to 14548. About 258 square feet, with a floor-to-ceiling window instead of a balcony. Each sleeps 3, and four pairs connect.
- Ocean View Balcony: 210 rooms along the outer sides and across the back. Every one sleeps 2, and none connect, so a family of four needs two separate rooms. A published guest review of 14672 found about 200 square feet plus a 50-square-foot balcony, a king bed that splits into twins and plenty of USB outlets.
- Surfside Family View Balcony: 44 rooms facing into Surfside at the back. On the plan, 20 sleep 4 and 24 sleep 3, and nine pairs connect.
- Interior and Spacious Interior: a handful of inside rooms near the middle and back of the deck.
Deck 14 has no suites, no infinite balconies and no Surfside Family Suites.
Connecting and Accessible Staterooms on Deck 14
A small curved arrow between two rooms on the plan marks a connecting pair. On Icon, the pair shares a private foyer in front of both doors rather than a door between the rooms, so you can close the foyer off from the hallway and leave both room doors open. On Deck 14, the connecting rooms are the Central Park, Surfside-facing and Panoramic rooms; the Ocean View Balconies don’t connect.
Deck 14 has six wheelchair-accessible staterooms: 14289 and 14689, both Surfside Family View Balconies that sleep 4, and 14654, 14658, 14660 and 14664, all Ocean View Balconies.
Quietest and Noisiest Cabins on Deck 14
Here’s the plain answer: the guest-review lists of Icon cabins to think twice about cover every room number on Deck 14, because the whole deck sits under something busy.
- Front, 14138 to 14162 and 14538 to 14562: next to the AquaDome, where you may hear bass from AquaTheater shows and rehearsals.
- Middle, 14164 to 14286 and 14564 to 14686: under the Chill Island pool deck, where the crew moves chairs early in the morning.
- Back, 14288 to 14362 and 14688 to 14762: under the Windjammer, which is busy at breakfast, and The Hideaway, the adults-only pool with a DJ on sea days.
The Surfside pool-noise warnings in guest reviews cover Decks 7, 9, 10 and 11, not Deck 14. Here, the Surfside-facing rooms are high above the splash pad, and the bigger question is the Windjammer overhead.
Is Deck 14 a Good Deck for Families?
Deck 14 works well for families who want connecting Central Park or Surfside-facing rooms for up to 7, or who like being one flight from the pools. It’s a weaker pick for light sleepers, because every part of the deck sits under a busy venue, and its Ocean View Balconies sleep only 2.

Frequently Asked Questions About Icon of the Seas Deck 14
What is on Deck 14 of Icon of the Seas?
Deck 14 on Icon of the Seas has 319 staterooms, numbered 14138 to 14762, plus The Overlook lounge at the front and the upper level of the Vitality Spa with the Vitality Cafe. It’s the only deck with traditional Central Park balconies, and it holds all 12 Panoramic Ocean View rooms. There’s no Deck 13, so Deck 12 is right below. What that means for your family: Deck 14 is one flight from the pools, but every room has a busy venue overhead.
What is The Overlook on Icon of the Seas?
The Overlook on Icon of the Seas is a lounge and bar at the front of Deck 14, with floor-to-ceiling windows and 160-degree ocean views, right above the ship’s bridge. Early previews counted 112 seats in the lounge and 52 more in The Overlook Pods on Deck 15. It’s quiet in the morning and gets loud only during AquaTheater shows or rehearsals. Here’s what I tell grandparents: bring a coffee from Rye & Bean, one level up, and go early, before the teens find it after dinner.
What is the difference between the Central Park balconies on Deck 14 and Decks 10 to 12?
The Central Park balconies on Icon of the Seas Deck 14 are traditional, with a door out to a separate balcony of about 50 square feet. The 196 park rooms on Decks 10, 11 and 12 are infinite balconies, where the window lowers and the balcony is part of the room. Deck 14 has 42 park rooms, and 19 sleep 4. The truth is, the bigger difference is noise: Deck 14’s park rooms sit right under the pool deck.
Is Deck 14 on Icon of the Seas noisy?
Every part of Icon of the Seas Deck 14 sits under or beside a busy venue, according to guest reviews. The front rooms can hear AquaTheater shows, the middle rooms are under the Chill Island pool deck where chairs move early in the morning, and the back rooms are under the Windjammer and The Hideaway. For families who are up early anyway, it may not matter much. The simple test I use: if anyone in your group is a light sleeper, look at Decks 10, 11 or 12 first.
What is a Panoramic Ocean View room on Icon of the Seas?
A Panoramic Ocean View room on Icon of the Seas has a floor-to-ceiling window instead of a balcony, about 258 square feet, and sleeps 3. All 12 are at the front of Deck 14, 14138 to 14148 and 14538 to 14548, close to the AquaDome, so you may hear some show bass. Four pairs connect. In fact, these are a good fit for a grandparent who wants a big ocean view without stepping out onto a balcony.
Are there accessible cabins on Deck 14 of Icon of the Seas?
Yes, Icon of the Seas Deck 14 has 6 wheelchair-accessible staterooms: 14289 and 14689, both Surfside Family View Balconies that sleep 4, and 14654, 14658, 14660 and 14664, all Ocean View Balconies. Royal Caribbean’s deck plan marks them with a wheelchair symbol. There’s no accessible Central Park or Panoramic room on this deck. If anyone in your group uses a wheelchair or a scooter, tell your advisor at the start, since these rooms can go early.
