Why Universal Is Complex Now

Universal Orlando Isn’t a “Just Show Up” Trip Anymore

With Epic Universe open, the resort spans multiple parks with virtual queues, timed portals, three hotel tiers, and an Express Pass system that changes the math on every ticket. Two pieces of research worth knowing:

  • 2023 research from the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) found more than two-thirds of Americans (68%) agree trip planning is more complex than ever, and 50% are more likely to use an advisor than in the past.
  • AAA/Bread Financial (Jan 28, 2026) reported travelers who use an advisor cite getting the best deals (51%), saving time (43%), support if something goes wrong (35%), and help with complex logistics (31%).

What Does It Cost to Have Us Plan Your Universal Trip?

We always charge for our work, and the amount depends on how much planning is involved. Full custom Universal planning is typically $250 and scales with complexity (Epic Universe strategy, hotel choice, Express Pass, party size, dining, and multigen coordination). A simple, known booking is a lower fee.

Your fee is separate from your trip cost, non-refundable, and quoted in the free 15-minute consultation before you pay. Some suppliers also pay us a commission (we’re upfront about that), but our recommendations are based on what fits your family.

Frequently Asked Questions

You don’t need one, but Universal got far more complex with Epic Universe: virtual queues, portals, three hotel tiers, and the Express Pass math. An advisor who’s walked it saves you hours and headaches.
It can be. Timed portals and virtual queues reward a smart plan, and we know the order to tackle it and how it changes your trip length.
It depends on your budget and goals. Only three hotels (Loews Royal Pacific, Hard Rock Hotel, and Loews Portofino Bay) include free Unlimited Express Pass for everyone in the room, which can be a big deal. Epic Universe Express is always a separate purchase. We match the hotel to your family.
For a multi-park, multigen, or first Epic Universe trip, usually yes. The time saved and mistakes avoided outweigh the fee, typically $250, and a simple booking is a lower fee.
Yes. Pacing for little kids and grandparents, rest built in, and the right hotel and tickets for the whole group. It’s our specialty.
