How Does the Favorite Grampy Travels Crowd Calendar Work?
When Is Walt Disney World Least Crowded?
Walt Disney World is least crowded from mid-September through early November (outside Jersey Week and holiday party nights), the first two weeks of December, and mid-January through early February. If your family can travel while school is in session, you will feel the difference in every line. The day of the week matters less than the week itself. In our own 13 months of posted wait-time history (August 2025 through August 2026, holiday weeks set aside), Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios were lightest on Sundays, EPCOT was heaviest on Mondays and lightest on Wednesdays, and Animal Kingdom was the one park with a real weekend swing, running about a level and a half higher on Saturdays than midweek. Across all four parks the week spanned one to two levels, while the swing from a quiet September week to Easter week ran about three levels at every park.
| Day of the Week | Magic Kingdom | EPCOT | Hollywood Studios | Animal Kingdom |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | 4.9 | 6.7 | 4.4 | 5.4 |
| Tuesday | 4.6 | 5.4 | 4.7 | 4.6 |
| Wednesday | 5.3 | 5.0 | 4.4 | 4.3 |
| Thursday | 4.5 | 5.7 | 4.4 | 4.6 |
| Friday | 4.3 | 6.3 | 5.2 | 5.5 |
| Saturday | 4.8 | 6.4 | 4.4 | 5.9 |
| Sunday | 3.9 | 5.7 | 4.1 | 5.4 |
Average crowd level, 1 to 10, from 13 months of posted wait-time history at each park (August 2025 through August 2026), holiday weeks excluded. Weekday effects are modest at three of the four parks; Animal Kingdom is the exception, and the season moves every park by three levels or more.
| Time of Year | Typical Crowd Level | Grampy's Take |
|---|---|---|
| Mid-Jan to early Feb | 5-6 | After the marathon, one of the calmest stretches all year |
| Presidents week (mid-Feb) | 7-8 | A busy pocket in an otherwise quiet month |
| Spring break and Easter (Mar-mid Apr) | 8-10 | Disney's busiest non-holiday stretch. Plan hard |
| Late April to May | 5-7 | A sweet spot before summer heat and crowds |
| June to mid-July | 7-8 | Summer heat builds; in our own history the July 4th week itself ran lighter than its reputation, about 4 out of 10 |
| Late July to August | 5-7 | Crowds thin as school resumes and storms roll in |
| September after Labor Day | 4-5 | The quietest weeks of the entire year |
| October | 6-8 | Food and Wine and Halloween parties fill weekends |
| Early November | 5-6 | Quiet and cool, holiday decorations going up |
| Thanksgiving week | 8-9 | Wed through Sun gets intense across all parks |
| Early December | 5-7 | Holiday magic without the holiday mobs |
| Christmas to New Year's | 9-10 | Top of the forecast every year. In our own 2025 wait-time history it ran 7 to 8, level with Easter week, and still the toughest two weeks to tour |
