What Is New for Christmas at Universal Orlando in 2026?

Universal Epic Universe celebrates the holidays for the first time in 2026. Decor arrives in Super Nintendo World and Isle of Berk. Celestial Park becomes a cosmic winter wonderland with twinkling trees and holiday fountain displays, and all of it is included with admission from November 14 through January 3.

Better still, the Wizarding World celebration grows too. Christmas now runs across three lands instead of two, with the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe joining Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. According to Universal Orlando’s holiday page, the celebration is resort-wide for the first time, covering all three parks, CityWalk and every on-site hotel.

Seeing the parade, Grinchmas and the Epic Universe decor in one trip means three parks, so a multi-day park-to-park ticket does more work at Christmas than at any other time of year. What Happens at Universal’s Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s?

Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s runs nightly at Universal Studios Florida. It runs November 14 through January 3 and ends with Santa Claus lighting the park’s Christmas tree. Giant character balloons from Despicable Me and Shrek float down the route with floats, performers and marching bands, and it is included with admission.

For example, in past seasons the parade has stepped off at 5:30 p.m., weather permitting, and the Universal Orlando app posts the exact time each day. Weather can delay or cancel it, so build a backup night into a longer trip. Families with small kids should plan to be in place 15 to 30 minutes early.

Meanwhile, the best viewing spots have not changed. Stand near the exit of Revenge of the Mummy, anywhere between the queue and the Palace Arcade, or in front of the Starbucks near the park entrance. Both give a clear line of sight to the balloons without a wall of taller adults in front of the grandkids.

Which Holiday Street Shows Run at Universal Studios Florida?

The parade is the headliner, but the street shows carry the holiday spirit all afternoon. In past seasons the Blues Brothers Holiday Show on Delancey Street has added “Run Rudolph Run” and “Blue Christmas” to its set, and Marilyn and the Diamond Bellas have performed a holiday edition in the Hollywood section.

On top of that, Vamos! Bailalo and the Beat Builders in New York have joined in with holiday songs, according to Universal Orlando’s own holiday guide. Showtimes change daily, so check the app after you arrive and catch one on the way to your parade spot.

What Is Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Like?

Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter runs November 14 through January 3. It covers Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure, Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida and the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe. Each land gets holiday decor, seasonal music and festive food, and The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle projection show plays nightly in Hogsmeade from dusk until park close.

Best of all, Hogsmeade is always dressed in snow, so the holiday layer feels natural there. Garland, wreaths and lights go up along the rooftops, the Frog Choir and Triwizard performers add holiday songs, and hot Butterbeer returns to the carts. The castle show maps holiday scenes from the films onto Hogwarts itself, with music and effects repeating through the evening.

What Is Grinchmas at Islands of Adventure?

Grinchmas runs November 14, 2026 through January 3, 2027 in Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventure. It is included with park admission. The centerpiece is the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular, a live stage retelling of How the Grinch Stole Christmas with music by Mannheim Steamroller, performed several times a day, and the Grinch and Max meet families at Honk Honkers.

Beyond the show, Seuss Landing becomes Whoville for the season. Who residents wander the streets and the Who-Ville Tree Lot sets up for photos. Seating for the show is first come, first served, so plan to line up 15 to 45 minutes early, and longer during Christmas week.

The morning show has the shortest line of the day, and the Grinch meet at Honk Honkers is calmest before the lunch crowd arrives. Yes. The Grinch and Friends Character Breakfast is held on select mornings inside Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous in Seuss Landing. It is a separately ticketed meal that requires park admission and an advance paid reservation, and Universal has not opened 2026 reservations or published 2026 prices as of September 2026.

For planning purposes, last season the breakfast ran on select mornings from late November into the holidays, priced from $58.99 for adults ages 10 and up and $32.99 for kids ages 3 to 9, plus tax. The Whos from the Who-liday Spectacular circulate among the tables, and every family gets a photo moment with the Grinch himself.

What Is the Universal Holiday Tour and Is It Worth It?

The Universal Holiday Tour starts at $69.99 plus tax per person on select dates. It runs November 14, 2026 through January 2, 2027, with a $10 discount per ticket for Universal Orlando passholders. It is a guided daytime walking tour of about two and a half hours, with up to 12 guests per group, built around reserved Grinch, Max and Santa meet-and-greets.

In addition, the 2026 tour includes an exclusive meet-and-greet with the Grinch, another with his faithful dog Max, a meet-and-greet with Santa Claus, and reserved seating for the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular. Reserved viewing for Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s is included too, and Universal lists that part as optional. Park admission is required and is not included in the tour price.

That said, it is not for every family. For a group of four the tour adds roughly $280 plus tax, and two and a half hours on foot is still a long stretch for a toddler. It is the right buy for families visiting Christmas week, when the regular Grinch line can run over an hour, and for grandparents who want the photos without the standing. I would skip it on a quiet weekday in early December.

Are Mannheim Steamroller Concerts Returning in 2026?

Universal has not announced Mannheim Steamroller concert dates for 2026 as of September 2026. In past seasons the group played select December nights on the Music Plaza Stage at Universal Studios Florida, two or three weekends per season, and every show was included with park admission. Expect an announcement in mid October, when Universal has released its holiday entertainment schedule in recent years.

When dates are announced they appear on Universal’s holiday page and in the app, and we will update this guide the same day. In past seasons the run has totaled four to six show nights in early to mid December. The group’s holiday recordings also score the Grinchmas show and the parade, so the music is part of the season even on nights the band is not playing.

Naturally, plan on arriving 20 minutes early if your family wants a spot near the stage. Music Plaza is a standing area, not a theater, so it fills from the front and small kids see best on shoulders or along the rails. The stage sits on the parade route, so on concert nights check the app for how the two events are timed.

What Is the Holiday Tribute Store at Universal Studios Florida?

The Holiday Tribute Store is a themed walk-through shop rebuilt every season. It sits inside Universal Studios Florida near Revenge of the Mummy, opens with the season on November 14 and closes January 3, and the 2026 theme has not been announced as of September 2026. The store began during Halloween Horror Nights in 2015, so the 2026 holiday edition is roughly its eleventh year, and it has become a must-visit for Universal fans.

Inside the store, every room is decorated to a different holiday story, and the merchandise changes with the theme. Expect ornaments, apparel and limited-edition collectibles that are only sold in the store. Lines form on weekends in December, so a weekday morning is the easiest time to browse with kids.

On top of that, the giant Christmas tree outside near the park entrance is home to Earl the Squirrel, Universal’s own holiday mascot. Ask the grandkids to find him hiding in the branches. He is well hidden, so give them a minute.

What Do the Universal Orlando Hotels Do for the Holidays?

All Universal Orlando Resort hotels celebrate the holidays from November 14 through January 3. Every on-site property gets decorations, a tree lighting and carolers. Menorah lighting ceremonies and holiday dining run from the value hotels through the three signature resorts, and none of it needs a park ticket.

Here is why a holiday hotel night can pay for itself. Guests at the three signature hotels, Portofino Bay, Hard Rock Hotel and Royal Pacific, receive Unlimited Express as a perk on check-in and check-out day. The quietest holiday weeks at Universal Orlando are early November and the first two weeks of December. On our crowd calendar early November rates a 5 to 6 and early December a 5 to 7, while Thanksgiving week jumps to 8 to 9 and Christmas through New Year’s sits at 9 to 10.

For families who can choose their dates, a Wednesday or Thursday in early December gets every holiday experience with the shortest lines of the season. Those two weekdays run lightest at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, while Epic Universe runs lightest on Saturday and Sunday. Christmas at Universal Studios Orlando is one of the best times of year to visit, with one condition on timing. Early December gives your family every holiday experience, mild weather in the 60s and 70s, and crowd levels of 5 to 7 on our calendar.

Christmas week, December 20 through January 1, gives you the same experiences at the highest prices and the longest waits of the year, a 9 or 10. I love the season, and I still tell families with any flexibility to aim for the first two weeks of December. If school break is the only option, go in with an on-site hotel and a plan, and it is still a wonderful trip.

Which Universal Orlando Hotels Include Express Pass at Christmas?

Three Universal Orlando hotels include Unlimited Express as a perk during the holidays: Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel and Loews Royal Pacific Resort. Every guest in the room gets it on check-in day and check-out day, and during Christmas week, when standby lines for headliners can pass 60 to 90 minutes, that perk can be worth more than the room-rate difference.

Universal Orlando at Christmas runs at the highest crowd levels of the year from December 20 through January 1, a 9 or 10 on our crowd calendar. Thanksgiving week is close behind at 8 to 9. Early November and the first two weeks of December are the quiet windows, at 5 to 6 and 5 to 7.

In our own wait-time history Wednesday and Thursday run about 2 crowd levels lighter than Saturday at the two original parks, and Epic Universe runs the other way, lightest on the weekend.

My rule for holiday trips is simple: original parks midweek, Epic Universe on Saturday or Sunday, and the parade on your first night so a weather cancellation still leaves you a second chance.

Is Universal Studios Orlando Open on Christmas Day?

Universal Studios Orlando’s three theme parks and CityWalk are open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and 2026 hours are posted on Universal’s park hours calendar. Christmas Day is one of the busiest days of the year at the resort, with crowd levels at 9 or 10.

I plan it like a Saturday in July: on site, inside the gates at opening, and finished with the must-do list by lunch. Families who want a calmer Christmas Day can spend the morning at the hotel tree lighting and carolers, then head to the parks for the parade and the castle show after 4 p.m.
