Walt Disney’s vision for his parks was a place where families could make memories together.
Most attractions at the four theme parks and two water parks of Walt Disney World are open to Guests of any height. Some are not, and knowing which is which before you go is what keeps a small child from finding out at the measuring stick.
Last updated August 24, 2026. Every entry below was checked that day against Disney’s official height requirements page, and this list mirrors it. Disney does change these, so if your child is within an inch of a limit, confirm at the attraction.

What Changed Recently
A few things on this list moved in the last couple of years, and they are the ones most likely to catch a family out.
• Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is now 38 inches, down from 40. That two inch change lets a lot of four and five year olds on a mountain they could not ride before.
• Tiana’s Bayou Adventure replaced Splash Mountain and carries the same 40 inch requirement.
• TRON Lightcycle / Run at 48 inches and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at 42 inches are the two newest rides with real limits.
• Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster now stars The Muppets rather than Aerosmith. The 48 inch requirement did not change, and we covered what actually changed on the ride separately.
• Muppet*Vision 3D, DINOSAUR and Primeval Whirl are gone. Muppet*Vision closed June 7, 2025 to make room for Monstropolis, and DinoLand is becoming Tropical Americas in 2027.
• Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is new at Animal Kingdom and has no height requirement.
Here is the part I tell every family with a child near a limit. Measure at home in the shoes they will actually wear to the park, then measure again the morning you go. Kids grow, and an inch of sneaker is a real inch at the measuring stick.
