What I Love About It
The animals never stop working. Every other Disney resort has a theme you notice on day one and stop seeing by day three. Here, the savanna was still getting a grandkid out of bed early on the last morning of the trip.
We came as a full crew. Emily was 14, Jake was 12, Pie was 10, and Ben was 5. Four kids spread that far apart in age rarely agree on anything, and they agreed on Boma.
Breakfast was the whole vacation as far as they were concerned. The Mickey waffles and bacon are all you care to enjoy, and my grandkids tested that policy hard. They also went through POG juice, the passion fruit, orange, and guava blend, faster than I could hand the glasses across the table.
The quiet morning is the one I still think about. Pie and I got up before anybody else was moving and watched the giraffes come across the savanna. She talked about those giraffes for the rest of the week.

Jambo House got the dining right, and I would not trade Boma for anything. Next time I would sleep at Kidani and walk the 10 minutes over for breakfast.
I would also skip a resort view room entirely. The whole argument for this hotel is the savanna, and a resort view room at Deluxe pricing buys you a parking lot at a flagship rate.
