What Room Types Does All-Star Sports Offer?

That simplicity is unusual, and it works in your favor. Disney retired view-based room categories across its resorts in January 2026, so there is no pool view or courtyard view premium to sort through here. Every room lists the same views of the courtyard, pool, or parking area.
Meanwhile, one thing this resort does not offer is a suite. All-Star Music next door carries family suites that sleep six, and Art of Animation carries far more of them. If your party is five people, you can still stay here by booking two connecting rooms, but you cannot do it in one.
What Is Inside a Standard Room?
Every room includes a beverage cooler, a single-serve coffee maker, an in-room safe, a hair dryer, an iron and ironing board, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a telephone with voicemail. There is no microwave in the room. Guests who need one use the microwaves in the food court.
The queen-size table bed is the piece families ask about most. It folds down from what looks like a console table under the television, which frees up floor space during the day and gives you a real queen mattress at night. Two adults fit on it without complaint.
In addition, the bathroom uses a single sink in a vanity area separated from the toilet and tub. That split layout lets one person brush teeth while another showers, which matters more than square footage when four people share a 7:30 a.m. rope drop.
Is the Preferred Room Upgrade Worth It?
Preferred rooms cost roughly $35 to $45 more per night and put you in the Surf’s Up buildings closest to Stadium Hall, the food court, the gift shop, and the bus stop. For most families, that upgrade earns its money.
Here is why. The walk from a back building in Center Court or Home Run Hotel to the bus stop runs seven to nine minutes each way, and you will make that walk four or more times a day. Multiply that across a seven-night stay with a tired six-year-old.
Even so, the Preferred rooms sit next to the main pool and the busiest walkway on property. Light sleepers and families with a napping toddler sometimes do better in the quieter Hoops Hotel or Center Court buildings, and they pay less for the privilege.
How Much Does a Night at All-Star Sports Cost?
All-Star Sports prices at the absolute bottom of the Walt Disney World range. Published 2026 rack rates run roughly $149 to $305 a night for a Standard Room and roughly $183 to $347 for a Preferred Room, tax included, before any discount is applied.
Those numbers swing hard by date. Disney runs nine separate rate seasons plus weekday and weekend pricing inside most of them, so a Monday in late January and a Saturday between Christmas and New Year’s are not remotely the same booking. The cheapest weeks are consistently late January, late August, and early September.
On top of the room rate, adults beyond the first two carry a surcharge of about $15 per night each. Children under 18 stay at no additional charge in the same room as their adults, and one child under age 3 in a crib does not count toward the four-person occupancy limit.
By comparison, Pop Century typically prices above the All-Stars for a room of the same size, and Art of Animation prices above Pop Century. Families chasing the lowest possible on-property nightly rate land here or at one of the two sister All-Star resorts, and the three are usually within a few dollars of each other.
Before you lock in a Preferred room, have your advisor price a Standard room at All-Star Sports against a Standard room at All-Star Music for the same dates. Music is the middle resort on the shared bus loop and its standard rooms sometimes price lower on the same night. You can walk over and grab an All-Star Music bus if one pulls up first.
What Are the Five Themed Sections Like?
The ten guest buildings sit in five pairs, each themed to a different sport. Where you land changes your walking distance, your noise level, and how close you are to a pool.
Surf’s Up holds buildings 1 and 6 and wraps around Surfboard Bay Pool, the resort’s main pool. It is the closest section to Stadium Hall, and most Preferred rooms live here. Three-story surfboards and shark fins cover the stairwells.
Touchdown! occupies buildings 7 and 10 and centers on a courtyard laid out as a football field with goalposts at each end. The playground sits between Touchdown! and Surf’s Up, which makes this pair the strongest pick for families with kids who need to burn energy before bed.
Home Run Hotel takes buildings 8 and 9 and surrounds Grand Slam Pool, the quiet pool, along with its own laundry room. Hoops Hotel in buildings 2 and 3 and Center Court in buildings 4 and 5 sit farthest from Stadium Hall. Both run noticeably quieter, and Center Court is the calmest corner of the property.
Where Can Your Family Eat at All-Star Sports?
All-Star Sports has one food court, one pool bar, and in-room pizza delivery. There is no table service restaurant, which is true of every Disney Value resort and catches first-timers by surprise.
End Zone Food Court inside Stadium Hall serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with stations covering pizza, pasta, burgers, sandwiches, and desserts. Mobile Ordering through the My Disney Experience app is the fastest route through it between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m., when close to 2,000 rooms funnel into one room.
For a drink by the water, Grandstand Spirits Pool Bar sits next to Surfboard Bay Pool and pours cocktails, frozen drinks, and specialty non-alcoholic options alongside snacks. Refillable resort mugs are sold at the gift shop and refilled at the food court.
Of course, the bigger dining story is what is missing. Pop Century and Art of Animation sit five minutes apart and give you two food courts within walking distance. The All-Star campus gives you three food courts too, but they are a longer walk apart and each serves its own 1,920 rooms.
Send your Mobile Order in from the room before you walk over, then have one adult claim a table while the other collects the tray. End Zone seats a few hundred people and the seating fills before the food line does. On a rainy park-closing evening, that one habit is the difference between eating together and eating in shifts.
What Pools and Recreation Are at All-Star Sports?
The resort has two heated pools, a playground, an arcade, and a one-mile jogging trail that loops the whole All-Star campus. Neither pool has a water slide or a hot tub, and no Disney Value resort does.
Surfboard Bay Pool is the feature pool, shaped like a wave and ringed by giant surfboards and shark fins, with a separate kiddie pool alongside it. Grand Slam Pool over in Home Run Hotel is shaped like a baseball diamond, with an outfield sundeck and a Goofy statue on the pitcher’s mound who sprays water at swimmers.
Beyond the water, Game Point Arcade sits inside Stadium Hall next to the food court and runs video and pinball games. The playground near Touchdown! gives younger kids a climbing structure and slides, and it is shaded for part of the afternoon.
Better still, the free evening programming costs your family nothing. Movies Under the Stars screens Disney films outdoors near the pool on select nights, and campfire activities with marshmallow roasting run on a rotating schedule posted at the front desk.
How Does Transportation Work at All-Star Sports?
Buses are it. Disney lists motorcoach as the only transportation option at All-Star Sports, serving all four theme parks, both water parks, Disney Springs, and other resort hotels from a single stop in front of Stadium Hall.
That single stop is the good news and the bad news together. Everything leaves from one place, a few steps from the lobby, with separate queues marked by destination. You never have to figure out which side of the resort your bus is on.
The catch is the shared loop. Buses frequently serve all three All-Star resorts on one run, and All-Star Sports is generally first on that route. Heading to a park you board an empty bus and get a seat, and heading back you are usually dropped first, but the ride itself picks up two more stops.
Naturally, the bigger trade-off is the ride length. Magic Kingdom requires a bus to the Transportation and Ticket Center rather than a direct drop at the gate, and a rope-drop morning realistically means leaving your room 75 to 90 minutes before park opening. Families who drive can park free overnight at the resort and free at the theme parks during their stay.
If your trip includes a Magic Kingdom morning, budget 90 minutes from room door to castle. The bus ride, the Transportation and Ticket Center transfer, and the security line each eat a chunk you will not get back. Grandkids do not handle a rushed rope drop well, and none of ours ever forgave me for the year I cut it close.
What Amenities and Services Does the Resort Include?
Every standard Disney Resort hotel benefit applies here. That includes 30 minutes of early theme park entry at all four parks on every day of your stay, including check-in and check-out days, a benefit Disney has confirmed through 2027. It also includes booking dining reservations 60 days out for your full length of stay up to 10 nights.
Resort guests can also buy Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days before arrival, while off-property guests wait until 3 days out. Complimentary overnight self-parking and complimentary theme park parking come with the stay, and Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout the property.
What you do not get is Extended Evening Theme Park Hours. Per Disney’s official benefits page, those two extra evening hours belong to Deluxe Resort and Deluxe Villa guests only, and no Value resort qualifies.
For the practical stuff, two 24-hour self-service laundry rooms sit near Grand Slam Pool and Surfboard Bay. Housekeeping visits every other day rather than daily, a 24-hour ATM sits near the Front Desk, and Sport Goofy Gifts and Sundries inside Stadium Hall handles souvenirs, snacks, sundries, and package delivery from the parks. The “Hey Disney!” voice assistant answers park questions and requests extra towels from your room.
Is All-Star Sports Worth It? A Professional Review
All-Star Sports is worth it for families of four or fewer who want the lowest on-property nightly rate and plan to spend their waking hours in the parks. It is a weaker choice for parties of five, for families who want the hotel itself to be part of the vacation, and for anyone who values short transportation times.
The resort delivers exactly what it promises and nothing more. You get a clean, well-maintained room, the full slate of on-property perks, and change left over for park tickets. What you trade away is space, transportation quality, and atmosphere.
What All-Star Sports Gets Right
Price is the headline and it is not close. Booking here instead of a Moderate resort frees up hundreds of dollars across a week, and that money buys Lightning Lane passes, a character meal, or an extra park day.
In fact, the on-property perks are identical to what a Grand Floridian guest gets in the morning. Early theme park entry, the 60-day dining window, and the 7-day Lightning Lane window do not scale with room rate, which is the single most underrated fact about Disney’s Value tier.
The bones of the property are also better than its reputation. Rooms were refreshed with the queen and table bed configuration, the split bathroom vanity is genuinely useful for four people, and the two pools are well kept. Kids who like sports react to the giant icons with real delight.
Where All-Star Sports Falls Short
Room size is the first wall you hit. At 260 square feet with a four-person cap, this is among the smallest rooms Disney sells, and a family of four with luggage will feel it by day three.
Meanwhile, transportation is the clearest weak point. Bus-only service on a loop shared with two other resorts means longer waits at park closing, and the Magic Kingdom transfer at the Transportation and Ticket Center adds time no other resort category deals with in quite the same way.
Still, the thing that surprises people most is the crowd density. Nearly 2,000 rooms share one food court, one gift shop, one arcade, and one bus stop, and youth sports groups and cheer squads book this resort heavily. All-Star Sports vs. Pop Century: Which Should You Book?
This is the real decision inside the Value tier. Pop Century costs more per night and gives you Disney Skyliner access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, a larger and better-regarded food court, and a more central location. All-Star Sports gives you the lower rate.
Book Pop Century if EPCOT and Hollywood Studios are your priority parks, if your family is transportation-sensitive, or if the extra nightly cost is comfortable. Gondola access to two parks without waiting for a bus changes the shape of a Disney day.
Book All-Star Sports if the nightly rate is the deciding factor, if Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom lead your park plan, or if your kids will genuinely love the sports theming. Animal Kingdom in particular is a shorter bus ride from here than from Pop Century.
Who Should Skip All-Star Sports?
Skip this resort if your party is five or six people. There is no suite option, and two connecting standard rooms at a Value resort often price close to a single Moderate room with more space.
Skip it if you are traveling with anyone who has mobility limitations and you cannot secure a Preferred room. The walk from the far buildings to the bus stop is long, exposed, and repeated several times a day.
Skip it if you want resort days built into your trip. There is no table service restaurant, no water slide, no hot tub, and no lake or walking path beyond the jogging loop. This is a hotel to sleep in between park days, and families expecting more come home disappointed.
Ask your advisor to put a building request on the reservation at booking, not at check-in. Requests are never guaranteed, but the ones attached early get honored far more often than the ones asked for at the desk at 4:00 p.m. For this resort, the request worth making is a Surf’s Up or Touchdown! building on a lower floor near an elevator.
