How Much Does Parking Cost at Universal Orlando?
Regular self-parking at Universal Orlando costs $35 per car in 2026, tax included. Prime parking runs $50 to $60, and valet starts at $38 for two hours.
In fact, the same $35 rate covers Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, CityWalk, and Epic Universe. One payment is good all day at both parking areas. A family that hops from Epic Universe to the older parks does not pay twice.
Self-parking turns free after 6 p.m. on regular nights at the main garage. That window does not apply at Epic Universe or on Halloween Horror Nights, which runs August 28 through November 1, 2026. According to Universal Orlando’s parking page, pricing is seasonal and can change by day.

Is parking free at Universal Orlando after 6 p.m.?
Yes, at the main garage on regular nights. The free window does not apply at Epic Universe, on Halloween Horror Nights (August 28 to November 1, 2026), or on New Year’s Eve.
Does pre-paid parking save money?
Not right now. On August 26, 2026, Universal’s online store listed pre-paid regular parking at $32.87 plus tax, the same $35 charged at the toll plaza, so pre-paying buys convenience and not a discount.
Do you pay twice to visit Epic Universe and Universal Studios on the same day?
No. One parking payment is valid all day at both the Epic Universe lot and the main garage, as long as you keep your receipt or QR code and show a photo ID at the toll plaza when you re-enter.
Where Do You Park for Each Universal Orlando Park?
Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and CityWalk share one parking complex at 6000 Universal Boulevard. Epic Universe has its own lot at 1001 Epic Boulevard on a separate campus south of the main resort.
The main complex is a set of enclosed garages with moving walkways, escalators, and elevators that feed straight into CityWalk. From your parking spot, plan on 10 to 20 minutes to reach either park gate. Add more at opening, when the security lines stack up.
For Volcano Bay, follow the signs to the dedicated Volcano Bay parking section, then ride the complimentary shuttle to the water park entrance. You pay the same $35, and the shuttle is included.
In addition, you can leave and come back the same day. Show your parking receipt or QR code and a photo ID at the toll plaza, and it covers re-entry at either campus. Prime parking is not guaranteed on re-entry, and a valet stay under two hours means you pay the balance when you return.
Is Parking at Epic Universe Different?
Epic Universe parking costs the same $35, but it works differently. It is a surface lot, not a garage, so there are no elevators and no roof over the regular rows.
The lot is split into themed sections with names like Hero, Viking, Monster, Dragon, and Explorer. The walk to security takes up to about 10 minutes from the back rows. Prime parking ($50 to $60) sits closest to the entrance under solar canopies, and Epic’s EV chargers are in the Prime section for an added fee.
What’s more, two rules catch families off guard. The free after-6 p.m. parking does not apply at Epic Universe, and neither does the Cinemark movie rebate. Ride-share drop-off is at 1201 Epic Boulevard, and it is free.
Even so, one payment still covers both campuses. Universal runs free buses between the CityWalk transportation hub and Epic Universe, with hotel stops along the way. A two-park day works with one parked car, and our complete Epic Universe guide covers the park itself.
Take a photo of the section sign and row number before you walk away, at either campus. By 9 p.m. every car in the Epic Universe lot looks the same to a tired grandpa. On a two-park day, park at the campus where you will end the night. The walk back to the car with sleepy kids is the one you remember.
Is Prime Parking or Valet Worth the Money?
Prime parking costs $50 to $60 in 2026, or $14 to $25 as an upgrade if you already paid for regular parking. Valet is $38 for two hours or less. A full day of valet that starts before 6 p.m. runs $76 to $81.
Prime puts you closest to the elevators in the garage or closest to the gates at Epic Universe. For most families I would skip it. The moving walkways do the work at the main garage, and the $15 to $25 difference buys two Butterbeers.
That said, valet is a different story on a short visit. At $38 for two hours, a quick CityWalk dinner or a passholder’s evening ride session can be worth it. Motorcycles, buses, and RVs cannot use valet, and if you valet for under two hours and come back later, you pay the difference.
Better still, two groups get Prime for less. Preferred Annual Passholders pay half price on the Prime upgrade, and Premier Passholders park in Prime at no charge after their first visit. Rental cars from Avis or Budget at Orlando International Airport also come with a complimentary Prime upgrade voucher, though you still pay the regular $35.
How Do You Get Free or Cheaper Parking at Universal Orlando?
The simplest free parking at Universal Orlando is the after-6 p.m. rule. Pull into the main garage after 6 p.m. on a regular night and self-parking is free.
That rule has four exceptions in 2026: Epic Universe, Halloween Horror Nights, New Year’s Eve on December 31, and any other event night Universal adds. Prime and valet are never free under this rule.
Annual passholders get the next best deal. Power Pass holders pay 50 percent off regular parking, and Preferred Pass holders park in the regular lots at no charge. Premier Pass holders get regular, Prime, and valet included, and each perk starts after the pass’s first park visit.
Beyond that, a Universal Cinemark matinee between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. refunds your regular parking. You need two or more movie tickets and the parking receipt. Ride-share and taxi drop-offs are free at both campuses.
Here is why pre-paying is no longer a money saver. It knocked $3 off the price when it launched in October 2025, but the $32.87 price plus tax now rings up at $35.
If Universal is just a dinner-and-a-stroll night for your family, wait until 6 p.m. and park free at the main garage. Let the kids watch the rotating globe while you decide on dinner. On Halloween Horror Nights that trick is off, so put the $35 in the budget or look at the Premium Scream Night ticket, which includes self-parking.
How Much Is Parking at Universal Orlando Hotels?
Universal’s hotels charge for overnight parking. Self-parking runs from $26 per night at Cabana Bay and the Endless Summer hotels to $36 at the Signature hotels, plus tax. Valet is $45 per night plus tax at the Signature hotels and Helios Grand.
Some guides still list Universal hotel parking as free. It is not. The rates below come from each hotel’s own page on the Loews Hotels site, and the hotels note they can change without notice.

Once you are checked in, leave the car parked. Hotel buses, water taxis from the Signature hotels, and walking paths connect every hotel to CityWalk and the parks. Of course, day visitors cannot use a hotel lot as a cheap park-and-walk. Helios Grand charges day guests $125 plus tax for self-parking and $128 for valet parking, more than three times the garage rate. If you are not staying overnight, park at the garage or the Epic Universe lot.
One night at Portofino Bay, Hard Rock, or Royal Pacific gives everyone in your room Unlimited Express at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure on check-in day and check-out day. For a family of four, that hotel night can cost less than buying Universal Express Passes outright. Your car sits in the hotel garage for $36 while you ride the water taxi. What Changes on Halloween Horror Nights and Event Nights?
On Halloween Horror Nights, self-parking stays $35 all night. The free after-6 p.m. rule is suspended on every event night from August 28 through November 1, 2026.
This year brought a bigger change. Universal ended the old free parking after midnight perk, and parking is now charged until 2 a.m. on event nights. Valet over two hours is a flat $81 on those nights.

Meanwhile, New Year’s Eve on December 31 is the other night the free window disappears. Universal’s parking page says more event exceptions can be added without notice, so check it the week of your visit.
What Time Should You Get to the Universal Parking Garage?
Arrive at the toll plaza 60 to 75 minutes before park opening on a busy day. That covers the garage, the walk, and the security screening before you reach the gates.
The walk itself runs 10 to 20 minutes, and the garage and security lines are heaviest in the 30 minutes before opening. Families with a stroller should add a few minutes for the elevators, which back up while the escalators keep moving.

That said, Prime parking can sell out on peak mornings, and Universal says it may not be available on re-entry. If a close spot matters for a grandparent with limited mobility, use accessible parking instead. Accessible spaces are available with a valid placard, and courtesy wheelchairs wait near the garage elevator bank and near Epic Universe’s accessible parking.

The differences are in the extras. Universal adds free self-parking after 6 p.m. on regular nights at its main garage. Disney includes standard theme park parking for its own hotel guests, while Universal hotel guests pay a nightly fee at the hotel instead.
How Do You Get From the Parking Garage to the Park Entrance?
You walk, with help. The main garage moves you along moving walkways, escalators, and elevators into CityWalk, and the trip from your car to a park gate runs 10 to 20 minutes. At Epic Universe you walk across the surface lot instead, about 10 minutes from the back rows.
