About Me

Brooke Bartlett – Concierge Travel Advisor | Walt Disney World & Universal Orlando Resort

Brooke Bartlett is a Concierge Travel Advisor with Favorite Grampy Travels, specializing in Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and ocean cruises, based in Winchester, Virginia.

Why I Tell Families Not to Wait for the Perfect Moment

Stop waiting for the “perfect” time to take the trip you have been dreaming about. That is the first thing I tell most families, because the perfect moment rarely shows up on its own. Some of the best memories come from saying yes to the adventure, and my job is to make that yes feel easy instead of overwhelming.

I have been planning trips for families and couples since 2022, all of it with Favorite Grampy Travels, and in that time I have planned hundreds of them. The part I love has never changed. I take the ideas and questions and moving pieces that feel like a lot, and turn them into something real.

Travel has never been about checking a destination off a list for me. It is about connection and the messages I get from clients while they are away, telling me their kids are still talking about a ride weeks after they came home.

The Trips I Plan Best

I work most often with families with young children, multigenerational groups, and couples looking for an adults-only escape. Those are three very different trips, and that is the point. A first Disney trip with toddlers needs a different plan than a Royal Caribbean sailing with three generations or a quiet week somewhere warm for two.

A lot of families come to me already frazzled. There are so many options, everything has changed since the last time they went, and they do not know where to start. I listen to how you actually like to travel, then I handle the research, the bookings, and the details so you can focus on the fun part.

One early client still sticks with me. I helped a mom secure a last-minute reservation for a hard-to-get Disney experience, and she was brought to tears that her little ones would get to do it. The smallest details matter most, especially for parents trying their hardest to make those first experiences feel magical.

Knowing Universal’s Epic Universe Inside and Out

If you are adding Universal to an Orlando trip, Universal Epic Universe is the park I know best. I have visited more than five times since it opened, learning the attractions, dining, and flow of all five worlds so I can help you make the most of a single day there.

This matters more in 2026 than ever. Universal now includes Epic Universe in its 3-day and longer Park-to-Park tickets, so you can move between Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Epic Universe across your vacation. Sequencing those days well is the difference between a smooth trip and a stressful one.

For Disney, Magic Kingdom is my home turf, and one of my personal goals has been to stay at nearly every Disney resort on property. I am almost there. That hands-on time lets me match the right resort to your family instead of guessing.

How I Actually Plan Your Trip

My planning style is personal, thoughtful, and detail-oriented, and I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all itinerary. Some families want nonstop adventure while others want a slower pace with real time to relax, so I plan around how you travel. Not how I think you should.

Communication, honesty, and transparency drive the whole process. I want you comfortable telling me what you actually want, and I will be straight with you in return, including when something is not worth the money. One thing I am especially good at is helping a trip fit your budget without losing the magic of the experience.

My background outside of travel is in human resources and administration for a government contractor, work that lives and dies on organization and follow-through. A family once told me their itinerary had every dinner and every day mapped out, and they never had to wonder what was next. That is the part of me that shows up in your trip documents.

On cruises, I split my recommendations honestly: Royal Caribbean is where I send families, and Virgin Voyages is my pick for adults who want a grown-up sailing. The right ship and the right cabin change how the whole trip feels.

A Pittsburgh Girl in the Shenandoah Valley

I will always be a Pittsburgh girl at heart, though these days you will find me in Winchester, Virginia with my husband, our two daughters, Annabelle and Stella, and our golden retriever, Chilli. As a family we love theme parks, cruising, National Parks, and trying new foods wherever the road takes us.

My own travels have taken me across the continental United States and Hawaii, plus Italy, Switzerland, Germany, England, Scotland, Ireland, Costa Rica, Canada, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, several Caribbean destinations, and parts of Asia and Africa. That firsthand experience is what I draw on when I tell you a resort, a ship, or a destination is worth your time.

When I am not planning your trip, I am usually planning ours, staying current on Disney and Universal news, attending park familiarization events, and keeping up my Cruise Lines International Association membership so my clients always get up-to-date advice.

Here is the honest fun fact: I have kayaked among humpback whales in Maui and hiked through storms and howling monkeys in Costa Rica, but I still travel everywhere with a fanny pack and an irrational fear of flying. If I can love travel this much in spite of that, I can absolutely help you love yours.

Questions Families Ask Me

Q: What does Brooke Bartlett specialize in planning?

I specialize in Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and ocean cruises, with a focus on families with young kids, multigenerational groups, and couples wanting adults-only escapes. I have planned hundreds of trips since 2022 and hold specialist training across Disney, Universal, Royal Caribbean, Virgin Voyages, and more.

Q: How early should I start planning a Walt Disney World trip?

For Walt Disney World, I recommend reaching out 6 to 9 months ahead, and sometimes earlier for holidays or first visits. That window lets us lock in the right resort, line up dining, and build a day-by-day plan before the best options fill. If your dates are sooner, I can still help. I work with last-minute trips often.

Q: Is Universal’s Epic Universe worth adding to an Orlando trip?

Yes, and 2026 makes it easier than ever. Epic Universe is now included in Universal’s 3-day and longer Park-to-Park tickets, so you can move between all three parks on one ticket. With five immersive worlds, it deserves at least a full day, and I help you plan that day so you actually see it all.

Q: What’s the difference between Royal Caribbean and Virgin Voyages for families?

Royal Caribbean is built for families, with water parks, kids’ clubs, and something for every age on board. Virgin Voyages is adults-only, which makes it perfect for couples or a grown-ups getaway, not for kids. I match you to the line that fits who is actually traveling, then get you the right cabin in the right spot.

Agent's Favorites

Favorite Disney Park: Magic Kingdom: It holds the classic Disney magic and nostalgia for me, and it is the park I steer most first-timers toward because I have it mapped down to the smallest detail.

Favorite Universal Park: Epic Universe: Hands down my favorite, and the one I recommend families build a full day around now that it is included on multi-day Park-to-Park tickets.

Favorite Universal Restaurant: Das Stakehaus in Dark Universe at Epic Universe: The theming is so immersive and the food is genuinely delicious. I tell clients it is worth a real sit-down meal, not a grab-and-go.

Favorite Disney Snack: School Bread from EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion: A must-try I point World Showcase visitors toward, along with any Lunch Box Tart from Woody’s Lunch Box in Hollywood Studios.

Favorite Adventure Experience: Camping in Dry Tortugas National Park, 70 miles west of Key West: No water or electricity, just a historic fort, crystal-clear water, incredible snorkeling, and starry nights. It is the trip people never expect from me.

Favorite Cruise Line: Royal Caribbean for families, Virgin Voyages for the adults: I genuinely book both, and which one I recommend depends entirely on who is sailing.
