Icon of the Seas: Where the Icon Class Began
Icon of the Seas, the first ship in the Icon Class, combines a resort, theme park, and beach vacation into one unbelievable vessel.
- Neighborhood Concept: Eight unique “neighborhoods,” each with its own theme and vibe (from family-friendly Surfside to the nightlife-ready AquaDome).
- AquaDome & AquaTheater: A stunning glass-domed space with aerialists, divers, and shows unlike anything else at sea.
- Category 6 Waterpark: The largest waterpark at sea, with record-breaking slides.
- Surfside Neighborhood: The first space designed entirely for young families.
- Ultimate Family Townhouse: A three-level suite with its own in-suite slide, a movie and karaoke space, a private balcony hot tub, and a private entrance to Surfside.

The Royal Caribbean Fleet
Royal Caribbean’s fleet is famous for pushing limits. Here are all seven ship classes:
Icon Class
Icon of the Seas, Star of the Seas, Legend of the Seas
The newest, biggest, and boldest ships ever built. These floating resorts combine waterparks, luxury neighborhoods, family-focused zones like Surfside, and jaw-dropping venues such as the AquaDome. Icon of the Seas has already been called the ultimate family vacation, her sister Star of the Seas has been sailing since August 2025, and Legend of the Seas began sailing in July 2026.
Oasis Class
Utopia, Wonder, Symphony, Harmony, Allure, Oasis of the Seas
Once the largest cruise ships in the world, these groundbreaking vessels introduced the “neighborhood” concept, including Central Park with live greenery, the carnival-style Boardwalk, and the spectacular open-air AquaTheater. Perfect for travelers who want endless choices in dining, entertainment, and thrills.
Quantum Class
Odyssey, Anthem, Ovation, Spectrum, Quantum of the Seas
Packed with innovative tech and unique experiences, these ships feature the North Star observation capsule soaring 300 feet above the ocean, the RipCord by iFLY® skydiving simulator, bumper cars, and transformative entertainment spaces. Ideal for adventurers who crave cutting-edge fun.
Freedom Class
Freedom, Liberty, Independence of the Seas
Mid-size by Royal Caribbean standards, but still larger than many competitors’ biggest ships. These vessels deliver classic Royal thrills, from surf simulators and multi-story water slides to ice skating rinks and Broadway-style entertainment, in a slightly more intimate setting that’s easier to navigate for first-time cruisers.
Voyager Class
Navigator, Mariner, Voyager, Explorer, Adventure of the Seas
The ships that set the standard for Royal Caribbean's big-ship fun. When Voyager of the Seas debuted in 1999, she was the largest cruise ship in the world and introduced the Royal Promenade and the first ice-skating rink at sea. Refurbishments since 2014 have added FlowRider surf simulators across the class, and some ships now have waterslides too. Great for families who want classic Royal Caribbean fun on a ship that is easy to get around.
Radiance Class
Radiance, Brilliance, Serenade, Jewel of the Seas
Built with more than three acres of glass, these ships put the ocean in view from almost anywhere onboard, even the glass elevators. Their smaller size lets them reach more ports and fit through the Panama Canal, which makes them a favorite for scenic routes like Alaska. Perfect for families who want the view to be part of the vacation.
Vision Class
Vision, Grandeur, Rhapsody, Enchantment of the Seas
The smallest and most classic ships in the fleet, built with plenty of glass for panoramic views and a multi-deck Centrum at their heart. Many itineraries are shorter, port-packed getaways of four or five nights, so the focus stays on the destinations. A relaxed, traditional choice for first-time cruisers or a quick family escape.
