Beyond that, inclusions vary widely from property to property, which is where most families get surprised. Some villas are fully staffed with a cook, a butler, and daily service built into the rate. Others hand you the keys and nothing else. In practice, two villas at the same nightly price can deliver completely different weeks. Before you fall in love with photos, I always want to see what the rate actually covers, what the taxes and service charges add, and whether staff gratuities are expected on top. Those three lines are usually the difference between a great value and a surprise.

Nobody is rushing to a breakfast buffet before it closes. The grandkids eat when they wake up. Somebody who is not you handles dinner and the dishes. For groups of six or more, a villa is often both cheaper per person and far more comfortable than booking three or four hotel rooms. One home means one bill, shared living space, a full kitchen, and no connecting-room lottery. The simple test I give people is this: count how many hotel rooms your group actually needs. At three rooms the math usually starts favoring a villa, and at four it is rarely close. The bigger win is not money, it is time together. In a hotel everybody scatters to their own room at night.
