Families get the best Magic Kingdom fireworks view on Main Street or the castle hub, and the best parade view from a curb claimed early. With kids or grandparents, pick the second nighttime parade when there are two, or book a Tomorrowland Terrace dessert party for a reserved fireworks seat.

Where Should You Watch Disney World Fireworks and Parades?
Watch fireworks where you can see the sky and the projections. Watch parades from a curb you claimed early. Each park does nighttime a little differently, and Animal Kingdom has no fireworks at all.
That said, show times change with the season, so check the My Disney Experience app the morning of your park day. If this is your first visit, our first Disney World trip planning guide shows where nighttime plans fit in your countdown.
| Park | Nighttime Show | Best Family Viewing | Arrive |
|---|---|---|---|
| Magic Kingdom | Happily Ever After fireworks, Disney Starlight nighttime parade | Main Street or the castle hub for fireworks; a curb along the parade route | 45 to 90 minutes early on busy nights |
| EPCOT | Luminous The Symphony of Us | Along the World Showcase Lagoon railing | 30 to 45 minutes early |
| Hollywood Studios | Fantasmic! and Wonderful World of Animation | Fantasmic! amphitheater seats; Hollywood Boulevard facing the Chinese Theater for Animation | 30 to 60 minutes early for Fantasmic! |
| Animal Kingdom | No fireworks | Evening shows and rides instead | Plan dinner and an early night |

What You Need to Know About Disney Nighttime Shows
How long is Happily Ever After?
Disney lists Magic Kingdom’s fireworks show at 18 minutes.
Is there a nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom?
Yes. Disney Starlight runs once or twice a night depending on the season, so check the app for your date.
Do you need to pay for a good fireworks view?
No, but a dessert party gives you a reserved spot, a seat or standing area and all the sweets you can eat.
Where Is the Best Place to Watch Magic Kingdom Fireworks?

The best Magic Kingdom fireworks view is on Main Street or the castle hub. There you see the fireworks and the projections on Cinderella Castle during the 18-minute show. Disney’s Happily Ever After page says parts of Frontierland and Tomorrowland also see the fireworks with smaller crowds, just without the projections.
For example, with little ones I like the back half of Main Street closer to the train station. You still see the castle, and you’re first in line for the exits when the show ends. Your kids’ MagicBand+ bands light up during the show, too, which is one of our kids favorite parts. Our guide on whether you need a MagicBand at Disney World explains how that works.
Is a Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party Worth It?

A fireworks dessert party is worth it for families who want a guaranteed view, a place to wait away from the crowds and unlimited sweets for the grandkids. It isn’t for families on a tight budget or those happy to claim a spot on Main Street 45 to 90 minutes early, since the view there costs nothing extra.
What Are the Dessert Party Options?
Disney offers three versions, all based at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. Prices below are recent estimates for adults 10 and up and kids 3 to 9, since Disney shows them only in the booking tool, and Seats & Sweets varies by date.
| Dessert Party | Viewing | Check-In | Recent Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seats & Sweets | Reserved seats on the Tomorrowland Terrace patio | 60 minutes before the fireworks | About $119 to $129 adults, about $75 kids |
| Pre-Party | Desserts first, then reserved standing room in Plaza Garden | 90 minutes before the fireworks | About $99 adults, $59 kids |
| Post-Party | Fireworks from Plaza Garden, then desserts | Varies | About $99 adults, $59 kids |
Swipe left to see all columns on mobile.
According to Disney’s Seats & Sweets page, the desserts are themed to the lands of Magic Kingdom, and beer and wine are included for guests 21 and over. Park admission isn’t included, and prices change, so treat these as estimates.
Similarly, the fall and holiday parties get their own versions. On Halloween party nights, the dessert party has recently run about $124 for adults and $74 for kids at Tomorrowland Terrace, or $99 and $59 in Plaza Garden, and Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party runs on Christmas party nights. Both need a separate party ticket, and our Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tickets page covers that side.
Which Dessert Party Should You Pick?
In short, Seats & Sweets is the one I’d pick with grandkids, because everyone gets a chair while you wait. With little legs and tired grandparents, that seat is worth a lot at 9:00 at night.
What Was Grampy’s Fireworks Dessert Party Like?

I’ve done the fireworks dessert party at Magic Kingdom with the grandkids, and it’s one of my favorite splurges. We were at Tomorrowland Terrace, and after a long day of walking, just sitting down together while we waited felt like a gift.
Then came the sweets, table after table of them. The grandkids went back for seconds, then thirds, and I stopped counting after that. We came away so full of sweets it was unbelievable, with sticky fingers and the biggest smiles you’ve ever seen.
When the lights dimmed and the music started, we had an awesome view of the castle and the fireworks. Then Tinker Bell flew almost directly over us, and every little head tilted back at once, mouths wide open. I looked down the row at the grandkids’ faces glowing in the fireworks and thought, this is exactly why we come.
I highly recommend it. It’s one of those nights I’ll carry with me for a long, long time.

Help Me Plan Our NightsWhere Should You Watch the Magic Kingdom Parades?

Watch Magic Kingdom parades from a curb along the route, claimed early. Festival of Fantasy runs in the afternoon, and Disney Starlight is the nighttime parade, performed once or twice a night depending on the season.
However, Main Street is the most popular stretch and fills first. Depending on the parade, Frontierland and Liberty Square can be easier for families who don’t want to wait as long, so check the route map in the app.
As a rule of thumb, on busy nights with only one nighttime parade, plan on 60 to 90 minutes of waiting for a front-row curb on Main Street. Bring snacks, a small blanket to sit on and something to keep the kids busy.
How Does Grampy Do the Parades With the Grandkids?
For parades, we always try to get there early. If there are two nighttime parades, we go to the second one, because by then a lot of the younger kids have headed back to their hotels and there’s a little more room along the curb.
Still, our grandkids are troopers. I keep them fueled with snacks, sodas and ice cream, and by parade time they’re wired and ready to keep going until the park closes. Some nights we’ve stayed until, gosh, 1:30 in the morning, and they were still bouncing.
We find our spot, stake out our place and just hang out together while we wait. There’s laughing, snacking, a little people-watching and a whole lot of asking whether it’s coming yet. Those waits have turned into some of our best family time.
Most of all, I love the moment the first glowing float rounds the corner. The grandkids jump up and wave like the characters came just for them. And after the last show, walking down a nearly empty Main Street with the castle all lit up behind us is one of my favorite times in the whole park.
Where Should You Watch EPCOT and Hollywood Studios Shows?

At EPCOT, watch Luminous from the World Showcase Lagoon railing. Disney calls Luminous The Symphony of Us a pageant of fireworks, fountains, music and lights, and the lagoon is big enough that most of the railing has a good view.
At Hollywood Studios, Fantasmic! plays in its own amphitheater with seats, which is a gift for tired families. On many nights there are two shows, and the later one is usually easier to get into.
Beyond that, the Electrical Water Pageant floats past the resorts near Magic Kingdom on many nights. It’s a sweet, low-key show to catch from a resort beach, as Disney’s nighttime entertainment page lists. Around Halloween and Christmas, the Magic Kingdom parties add their own parades and fireworks, and our Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party guide covers that season.
Frequently Asked Questions About Disney World Fireworks and Parades
Is the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party Worth It?
The Magic Kingdom fireworks dessert party is worth it for families who want a reserved view and a place to wait without the crowds. Seats & Sweets at Tomorrowland Terrace has recently run about $119 to $129 for adults and about $75 for kids ages 3 to 9, with reserved patio seats and unlimited desserts.
In my experience, it’s well worth it with grandkids. We came away full of sweets, had an awesome view of the castle, and Tinker Bell flew almost right over us. Park admission isn’t included, so budget for that separately.
What Time Is the Magic Kingdom Parade?
Magic Kingdom’s afternoon parade, Festival of Fantasy, and its nighttime parade, Disney Starlight, run on times that change by season. Disney Starlight is performed once or twice a night, so check the My Disney Experience app the morning of your visit.
In addition, when there are two nighttime parades, I pick the second one. By then a lot of the younger kids have headed back to their hotels, so it’s easier to find a good spot along the route and settle in.
How Early Should You Get a Spot for Magic Kingdom Fireworks?
For Magic Kingdom fireworks, plan to claim a spot on Main Street or the castle hub 45 to 90 minutes early on busy nights. On quieter nights, 30 minutes is usually enough, especially if you watch from Frontierland or Tomorrowland.
Even so, my advice is to pick your spot, send one adult for snacks and turn the wait into part of the fun. A dessert party is the other way around it, since your view is reserved and you check in 60 to 90 minutes ahead.
Does Animal Kingdom Have Fireworks?
No, Disney’s Animal Kingdom doesn’t have fireworks, because the park is home to live animals. Disney lists nighttime spectaculars at the other 3 parks only. It also tends to close earlier than the other parks, so most families plan an Animal Kingdom day as a morning park and spend the evening elsewhere.
For that reason, I’d pair Animal Kingdom with a relaxed night at your resort. If you’re staying near Magic Kingdom, the Electrical Water Pageant floats past on many nights and is a lovely way to end a big day.
How Can a Travel Advisor Help You Plan Your Disney Nights?
