Angie Dodd is a Concierge Travel Advisor with Favorite Grampy Travels, specializing in Walt Disney World, allergy-friendly travel planning, and family cruises, based in Amarillo, Texas.
That line is my whole identity. I love Disney. I also live with a serious nut allergy. And I’ve figured out how to do both without compromise.
Most families dealing with food allergies walk into Magic Kingdom already stressed. They’ve read the forums. They’ve seen conflicting advice. They’re worried about cross-contact at quick-service counters and unsure which table-service restaurants actually have dedicated allergy prep areas. I get it, because that was me on my first trip after my diagnosis.
Now I’ve been to Walt Disney World more than twenty times. I visit two to three times a year with my family, and I have personally navigated nut-free dining at restaurants across all four parks and multiple resorts. I know which locations handle allergy requests with confidence and which ones require more preparation on your end. When Disney removed the allergy selection option from its dining reservation system in February 2026, a lot of allergy families panicked. I tell my clients: nothing about the kitchen protocols changed. You just need to be more deliberate about communicating with your server and asking to speak with the chef when you arrive. That’s something I walk every client through before their trip.
I spent fifteen years as a legal assistant. Twenty years total handling the details so other people could focus on the work that mattered most to them. Timelines, documentation, follow-up, precision. That’s what I did every day, and it’s exactly what I do now for families planning vacations.
My husband Justin and I never vacationed as kids. When we started dating, we took road trips. When our girls came along, we wanted them to experience the world the way we never got to. Disney became our place. We kept going back. I started planning trips for friends, then for their friends, and eventually I realized I should stop being a free travel agent and make it official.
I joined Favorite Grampy Travels, a Universal U-Preferred Platinum agency and Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, because I wanted to be part of an agency that takes travel seriously. In two years, I’ve planned between 100 and 200 vacations for families. My College of Disney Knowledge certification gave me a strong foundation, but honestly, twenty visits to the parks have taught me more than any training program. Magic Kingdom feels like my neighborhood at this point.
I focus on budgets. For a lot of families, a Disney trip is a once-in-a-lifetime investment, and I treat it that way. I build plans that stretch every dollar: the right ticket type, a smart resort category, and a dining plan that fits your family’s eating style. When clients come to me overwhelmed by the options, I simplify it. I give them a plan, a timeline, and the confidence to enjoy the trip without second-guessing every decision.
I work mostly with multigenerational families. Grandparents traveling with their kids and grandkids. Groups where everyone has different budgets, different stamina levels, and different ideas about what makes a great vacation. I love the puzzle of pulling all of that together into one trip that works for everyone.
One of my favorite client experiences was working with a family of sixteen from New Zealand who found me through social media. They’d never been to Orlando and needed help with everything: tickets, hotels, dining, park strategy. They told me afterward that I found them great ways to save money and made the whole trip easy. They’ve already recommended friends, and one of those friends booked with me too. That’s the part of this job I love most.
I’m also certified across six cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean (Master of Adventure), Celebrity, Norwegian, Princess, Disney Cruise Line, and Viking. I’ve sailed four Royal Caribbean cruises, and if you’ve never been to CocoCay’s Coco Beach Club, put it on your list. It’s my favorite adult escape on the water.
I also go to Italy every other year and have visited Disneyland Paris. Epic Universe blew me away on my first visit. At night, that park comes alive in a way I wasn’t expecting.
Based in Amarillo, Texas, I work with families across the country and internationally. At home, Justin and I have been married twenty-two years. Our two teenage daughters keep us busy as a full-on band family: marching band, concert band, jazz band, and band camps all year long. When we’re not at a competition or a rehearsal, we’re at Disney researching EPCOT festival food, checking out new merchandise, and watching fireworks over Magic Kingdom. All in the name of research, of course.
Q: Does Angie Dodd specialize in food allergy travel?
Yes. I live with a nut allergy and have personally navigated allergy-friendly dining at Walt Disney World for years. I help families identify safe restaurants, communicate with chefs, and build dining plans that account for allergies across all four parks. With Disney’s recent changes to its reservation process, having an advisor who understands the system matters more than ever.
Q: How do I handle food allergies at Walt Disney World?
Start by knowing that Disney still takes allergies seriously. At table-service restaurants, ask to speak with the chef directly. At quick-service locations, use the allergy-friendly menu in Mobile Order or ask a cast member for the allergen binder. I send every client a detailed breakdown of their best dining options based on their specific allergies before they leave home.
Q: Can a travel advisor really save me money on a Disney trip?
Absolutely. Budget planning is my specialty because most families have a set number to work with. I match you to a smart ticket type, resort tier, and dining approach for your family size and trip length. A group of sixteen from New Zealand told me I found them savings they never would have discovered on their own.
Favorite Park: Magic Kingdom: Walking down Main Street and taking it all in never gets old. Twenty visits and it still hits the same way.
Favorite Restaurant: Biergarten at EPCOT: All-you-care-to-eat German food with live entertainment. Hard to say no to that.
Favorite Attraction: Slinky Dog Dash at Hollywood Studios: A great family coaster that everybody in the group can enjoy together.
Favorite Snack: Cheeseburger Spring Rolls at Magic Kingdom. If you haven’t tried them, trust me.
Favorite Character: Minnie Mouse. Polka dots are my favorite pattern, and she wears them best.
Favorite Adult Escape: Coco Beach Club at Perfect Day at CocoCay on Royal Caribbean. Pure relaxation.
Favorite Family Spot: Dollywood. Our Texas family loves a good road trip, and Dollywood delivers every time.
