Well, hey there fellow Disney-loving families! You know what gets Favorite Grampy more excited than finding extra Dole Whip at the bottom of the cup? Planning our annual trip to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party with all the grandkids!
And let me tell you, 2025 is shaping up to be the most BOO-tiful year yet at Magic Kingdom. I’ve been doing my homework (Grammy says it’s the only homework I actually do), and I’ve got all the spooky details you need to make this Halloween absolutely magical for your little goblins.
When the Spooky Fun Begins: 2025 Party Dates and Times

Okay, so here’s the scoop on when you can join Mickey and the gang for some not-so-scary fun. The party runs select nights from August 15 through October 31, 2025. And get this – the party officially starts at 7 PM and goes until midnight, but they let us in at 4 PM! That’s three extra hours of fun before the real magic begins.
I always tell the grandkids we’re getting “bonus Disney time” because I’m Favorite Grampy, and their faces light up like jack-o’-lanterns!
Your Complete 2025 Event Calendar
Here’s every single party night in 2025 (Grammy made me write these down so I wouldn’t forget):
August: 15, 17, 19, 22, 24, 26, and 29
September: 2, 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, and 30
October: 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30, and 31
That’s 38 nights of Halloween magic! We usually go in early October when it’s not quite as hot, and this Grampy doesn’t melt like the Wicked Witch.
Ticket Pricing and How to Save Some Candy Money
Now, I know what you’re thinking – “Favorite Grampy, how much is this going to cost me?” Well, tickets range from $119 to $229 per person, depending on the date. The closer to Halloween, the more expensive it gets.
Favorite Grampy’s Pro Tip: If you’re an Annual Passholder or Disney Vacation Club member, you can save $10 per ticket on select August and September dates! That’s enough for an extra Mickey ice cream bar or two. You can buy your tickets through Favorite Grampy Travels. Call 866-846-3141 or fill out the ticket request form!
What’s New for Halloween 2025 That Has Favorite Grampy Excited

Oh boy, do I have some exciting news! Disney’s adding some fantastic new treats (and I’m not just talking about candy).
First up, you can now meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse TOGETHER at Town Square Theater! The grandkids are going to flip when they see Mickey and Minnie in their Halloween costumes at the same time. No more choosing between them!
Storybook Circus is getting transformed into what Disney calls a “happy haunt,” especially for families with younger kids. Perfect for my littlest grandkids who might find some things too spooky.
And there’s this new dance party called ZOM-BEATZ BASH, based on that ZOMBIES movie the kids keep watching. It’s at Rockettower Plaza Stage, and I bet even this old Favorite Grampy might bust a move or two!
The Not-So-Scary Entertainment That’ll Make Your Heart Soar
The entertainment is what really makes this party special. Trust me, after seeing these shows dozens of times, they still give me goosebumps (the good kind)!

Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade
This parade is AMAZING! The Headless Horseman rides through first (the grandkids always grab my hand a little tighter), followed by all our favorite characters in Halloween costumes.
You’ll see the Hitchhiking Ghosts from Haunted Mansion, dancing ghosts, and even Disney villains! My favorite part? When Clarabelle Cow, Minnie, and Daisy dress up as the Sanderson Sisters. It’s hysterical!
Pro tip from Grampy: Stake out a spot in Frontierland about 20 minutes before the parade. It’s less crowded than Main Street, and the kids can see everything perfectly.

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks
These fireworks are hosted by Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas! The show features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy getting spirited away to a haunted house.
The projections on Cinderella Castle are incredible. They make the castle look like it’s melting, transforming, and coming alive with spooky magic. We always watch from the hub area, and I make sure to grab some popcorn beforehand.

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
The Sanderson Sisters put on quite a show right in front of the castle! They bring out Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, Maleficent, and other villains for one wicked performance.
Check the My Disney Experience app for showtimes. We usually catch the later show when it’s a bit less crowded. The grandkids love yelling “Hocus Pocus!” along with the crowd!
Favorite Attractions with Halloween Magic
Now, most attractions stay open during the party, but some get special Halloween treatment that makes them extra fun!

Space Mountain becomes even more thrilling in complete darkness with spooky space music. My teenage grandkids beg to ride it over and over!
Mad Tea Party gets special lighting that makes the teacups glow in eerie colors. Even Grammy joins us on this one!
And Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor features Halloween-themed jokes. Last year, they picked on my granddaughter for her costume (she was dressed as Dopey), and the whole audience was cracking up!
Must-Do Rides During the Party

With lower crowds, you can ride so much more! Here are my must-dos by land:
- Adventureland: Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise
- Frontierland: Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (so good at night!)
- Liberty Square: Haunted Mansion (obviously!)
- Fantasyland: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan’s Flight
- Tomorrowland: TRON Lightcycle/Run, Space Mountain
The lines are usually super short, especially towards the end of the night. Last year, we rode Seven Dwarfs three times in a row!
Trick-or-Treating Through the Kingdom

Okay, this is where Favorite Grampy really shines! They have trick-or-treat trails throughout the park, and yes, adults can trick-or-treat too! Favorite Grampy’s record is going through one line ten times.
Mars Wrigley provides tons of candy – we’re talking Snickers, Twix, M&Ms, Skittles, and more. In a previous year, we filled a whole wagon! Grammy says they probably banned wagons because of Favorite Grampy.
For families with food allergies, look for Cast Members to get a special teal-colored bag. When you trick-or-treat with it, you’ll get teal tokens to exchange at Allergy-Friendly Centers for safe treats. Disney thinks of everything!
Halloween Treats That’ll Make Your Sweet Tooth Scream
Oh boy, here comes my favorite part – THE FOOD! Disney’s chefs go all out for this party, and every year I try to eat everything. Grammy says it’s impossible, but I see that as a challenge!
Can’t-Miss Specialty Desserts and Drinks

The Madame Leota Séance Candle at Sleepy Hollow is a must-try. It’s red velvet cake with cookies and cream mousse that looks like a glowing candle. Spooky AND delicious!

The Mickey-shaped Pumpkin Cheesecake at Main Street Bakery is to die for (pun intended). Graham cracker crust, pumpkin cheesecake, and white chocolate ganache. I might have eaten two last year.

For drinks, the Not A Poisoned Apple Slushy at Cosmic Ray’s is refreshing – frozen apple cider with cinnamon whipped cream. And adults, there’s an Apple Cider Margarita at Be Our Guest that’s absolutely wicked!
Where to Find the Best Party Eats
Golden Oak Outpost has these new Cajun Crawfish and Sausage BOOtine fries that sound amazing! And their Beignets from Beyond come with a cookies and cream cheese dipping sauce. Yes, please!

Pecos Bill offers Pumpkin Pie Mini Churros with pumpkin pie dipping sauce. I think the grandkids will go crazy for these this year!

Casey’s Corner serves special Chipotle BBQ items only during the party. Their Candy Corn Verrine is new this year – layers of salted caramel, marshmallow, and whipped cream!

Don’t miss the Ursula Cone at Storybook Treats – wild berry soft-serve in a black cone with candy coral. It’s Instagram-worthy AND tasty!
Costume Fun for the Whole Family

Here’s where you can really get creative! Everyone can wear costumes to the party, even adults (with some guidelines, of course).
The rules are simple – no masks for anyone over 14, costumes can’t drag on the ground, and no real weapons. Last year, our family went as characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I was the Prince, and let me tell you, that polyester costume was HOT!
Throughout the night, you’ll spot characters in special Halloween costumes too. The grandkids love seeing their favorites dressed up!
Favorite Grampy’s Pro Tips for Making Halloween Memories

After years of doing this party, here are my best tips:
- Arrive at 4 PM to enjoy rides before party time. We usually eat dinner then too.
- Bring a backpack for all that candy! And maybe some gallon Ziploc bags for overflow.
- Don’t miss the dance parties. Disney Jr. Jam at Cosmic Ray’s is perfect for little ones.
- Take breaks. Find a bench during the parade and rest those feet.
- Use PhotoPass photographers. They’re everywhere and capture the magic perfectly. Plus, they have exclusive Halloween Magic Shots!
- Save some popular rides for later. After 10 PM, lines practically disappear.
- Stay until midnight. The last hour is magical with hardly any crowds!
