Our Story: Why Memories Matter
It all started with that first trip...
Let’s take a trip down memory lane for a moment, shall we? Our founder, Nikki Hendrix, has the fondest memories of long car rides, packed up like sardines, eating cold Pop-Tarts for breakfast, and headed to Walt Disney World. That excitement building and building. The anticipation of what was ahead was making it hard to sit still. Then…there it was! Welcome to Walt Disney World, off in the distance! Eek! Almost there!
These cherished memories are what Nikki holds on to, thanks to her dad. Fast forward 30 years, and now her dad is the beloved “Grampy,” creating the same memories with his seven grandkids – instilling in them that great memories are more valuable than material items. These are the memories that last a lifetime.
These memories sparked a passion which led to helping others create memories that will be cherished forever.
How it Started
Many years of travelling and creating magical memories also meant seeing (and hearing about) other families’ unfortunate experiences. This is often the pitfall of DIY travel, months of planning, only to arrive and discover the hotel is overbooked, the attractions have far longer queues than expected, and the so-called “kid-friendly” areas are anything but. It’s often made to sound easy, but the logistics behind planning a family trip can quickly become overwhelming.
Nikki’s family and team of trusted travel advisors have years of experience and have worked out all the kinks with frequent trips to the parks, hotels, cruises. The FGT team also brings the knowledge and passion that Favorite Grampy himself gained during his time working for the Walt Disney Company.
