All About Me

Hello, I’m Christy and I am so glad you’re here! I currently live and grew up in Maryland. I never had the opportunity to travel as a child until magically I was invited to Disney World with a friend my sophomore year of high school.  This became my very first real travel experience on land and first time on a plane. The Magic Kingdom parade, fireworks after dark and Back to the Future Ride are etched into my memories of travel for life.

Ever since that experience I was determined to make travel experiences a part of my life. After I graduated nursing school, I moved to San Diego, California then to Hawaii and back to Los Angeles to be a travel nurse. I soaked up every bit of the local experiences in each place I lived and made sure not to miss the tourist experiences as well. I enjoyed hosting friends and family and showing them the best food and adventures that each place had to offer. (There is truly no place on earth like Hawaii!)

When I returned to Maryland to work as a pediatric ER nurse, I met a physician who organized medical missions. I traveled to Belize with a small group for what would be the most memorable trip I may ever take. While weekends were spent near the pristine beaches in humble accommodations, the weekdays were spent in the jungle and villages. Each day brought new opportunities to learn the culture while treating the sick and offering medicines we take for granted every day.

Flash forward to what travel means to me today. As a busy blended family of six, (3 boys and 1 girl, ages 10-13) vacation time is absolutely golden and so important to all of us. It is time to slow down, connect, adventure, learn, enjoy delicious food, relax and laugh…a lot.

Couples time is equally as important to my fiancé and I who base much of our travel choices around food and landscape. We love to plan trips balanced with relaxation, exceptional food and adventure. I truly believe the key to a happy life is balance. Yes, I am a libra…
