A Week on the Dalmatian Coast

Day 1 · Šibenik to Primošten
Your Croatian adventure begins in Šibenik, a historic seaside city known for its magnificent stone architecture and UNESCO-listed treasures. Step aboard, settle into your cabin, and meet your fellow travelers over a welcome lunch as we sail south. By afternoon we tie up in Primošten, one of Dalmatia’s most photogenic towns, set on a tiny peninsula ringed by brilliant blue water and famous for its native Babić red wine. Wander the waterfront or climb the old town for sweeping sea views.
Day 2 · Primošten to Stari Grad
A morning swim stop in a secluded Adriatic bay, then on to one of Croatia’s oldest towns, founded by Greek settlers in 384 BC. Stone lanes open onto quiet squares and waterfront cafés. Just beyond lies the UNESCO-listed Stari Grad Plain, farmed within boundaries laid out more than 2,400 years ago.
Day 3 · Stari Grad to Korčula
After a leisurely swim stop in a secluded bay, sail on to one of the best-preserved medieval towns on the Adriatic, often called the legendary home of Marco Polo. Fortified walls, cobbled passageways, and sunset views across the water. Discover its traditional sword-dance heritage and sample island olive oil and native Pošip or Grk wine.
Day 4 · Korčula to Jelsa
After a leisurely morning swim and lunch onboard, sail into a charming harbor town on Hvar’s quieter northern coast. Wander stone streets and a picturesque waterfront, then settle into the easy rhythm of island life. Vineyards, olive groves, and lavender traditions surround you. Linger over dinner under the stars.
Day 5 · Jelsa to Bol
Arrive in a lively seaside town on the island of Brač, home to the unmistakable Zlatni Rat. This ribbon of pale pebbles stretches into the turquoise Adriatic, its tip reshaped by the winds and currents. Swim, stroll the shaded promenade, and admire one of Croatia’s most celebrated coastal views. Tonight is our special celebration dinner onboard.
Day 6 · Bol to Skradin
Cruise inland along the Krka River to a colorful marina town, gateway to one of Croatia’s most beautiful national parks. Your visit to Krka National Park takes you along wooden walkways past rushing water, old mills, emerald pools, and the wide cascades of Skradinski Buk. Park entry is included, weather permitting.
Day 7 · Skradin to Šibenik
One last swim stop as we cruise back down the Krka toward Šibenik, where the week began. A final evening together on board and ashore: a sunset toast on the sun deck, a long dinner in town, and the kind of conversation that only happens at the end of a week like this.
Day 8 · Šibenik
One last leisurely breakfast in Šibenik before we say goodbye. Then come the hugs, the exchanged photos, and the promises to travel together again. Our digital albums will be full of turquoise coves, ancient stone towns, beautiful meals, and moments we will never want to forget.
Nearly every day includes a swim stop in the open Adriatic, right off the yacht’s swim platform. Feeling brave? Jump in from the top deck!

Swim stops nearly every day. Snorkel gear, stand-up paddleboards, floats, water mats, a water island, and mini Seabobs. The inflatable yacht slide comes out once during the week, sea and weather permitting. Jetski rental is available. Ask for details.

Choose to sleep in or enjoy the sunrise from the top deck. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast overlooking a different Croatian harbor every day.

Your Home on the Water
Your yacht is one of Lastavica Cruising’s two custom-built flagships: 160 feet (49 meters) of polished deck and warm wood, built in Croatia and run by the Stančić family, who have spent more than 50 years sharing this coastline with guests. A father-and-son captain team drives the ships they helped design.
There’s a lovely symmetry in that. Fifty years of the Stančić family on the Adriatic. Fifty years of Grammy and Grampy. One week where those two stories meet.

About Your Cabin
Eighteen ensuite cabins, all with the same amenities, in three configurations. Here is the honest difference between them.
Below Deck · Cabins 1 to 8
The largest cabins on the ship, up to 17.4 m² (187 sq ft). Inside access with a fixed porthole. Six of the eight can be made up as one double bed or two twins. Cabins 5 and 6 are double only.
Main Deck, Outside · Cabins 9 to 12
Your own entrance straight off the deck and a real window that opens, not a porthole. 12.1 to 14.5 m² (130 to 156 sq ft). All four can be made up as a double or two twins. There are only four of these on the whole ship.
Main Deck, Inside · Cabins 13 to 18
Inside access on the main deck, 12.5 to 14.5 m² (135 to 156 sq ft). Cabins 13 and 14 are twin only. The other four can be made up as a double or two twins.
Every one of the 18 cabins has a private ensuite bathroom, dual air conditioning and ventilation, a writing desk, chair, lamps, a safe, a hairdryer, a TV, a closet, and under-bed luggage storage. One thing the crew will tell you anyway: the air conditioning shuts off when a door or window is left open.
Traveling with a grandchild? Eight cabins (1, 2, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15 and 16) have a sofa that converts to a bed for a small child. Ask us about adding one and we will confirm availability and the cost for your dates.
Cabins 1 to 8 are on the lower deck. Cabins 9 to 18 are on the main deck.
Cabins are assigned first come, first served, and we cannot promise a specific cabin number. Tell us on the reservation form whether you would like twins or a double, which deck you prefer, and whether you need a third bed, and we will get you as close as we can.
Meet Favorite Grampy and Grammy
Grammy and Grampy Oliverez met in a high school biology class in 1975, where Grampy spent most of that semester sitting one row behind the prettiest girl in the room, flicking spitballs down the front of her blouse. He maintains it was a carefully considered romantic strategy. She maintains he was a menace with terrible aim. Half a century later, they still have not settled it.
She married him anyway, three summers after that biology class. What came next was the ordinary, extraordinary work of building a life together: babies, first apartments, road trips where nobody could agree on the map, and a kitchen table that kept needing another leaf as the family grew. Somewhere along the way they worked out the thing that has held all of it together. The memories worth keeping are almost never the expensive ones. They are the ones where everybody showed up.
They have never loved anything the way they love a full table and a packed suitcase. These days you rarely see one of them without the other. Same booth at the same diner. Same side of the room at every wedding. The grandkids have figured out that if you find Grammy, Grampy is about ninety seconds behind her, usually carrying something she asked him to hold.
Fifty years could have been a banquet hall and a slideshow. Instead they chose a yacht, a Croatian coastline, and the people they love most, because that is what these fifty years have actually been about. Going somewhere together, and bringing everybody along.

Do we need to know Grammy and Grampy to join?
No. This trip is open to anyone who reserves a cabin, whether you have traveled with Favorite Grampy Travels for years or found this page five minutes ago. About 36 guests will share the yacht, and roughly half of them will be meeting each other for the first time in Šibenik. The truth is, a week on a small boat does the introducing for you. By day two you are swapping sunscreen and saving each other seats at dinner. Come as a couple, as a family, or as a party of one.
Can kids or grandkids come?
Yes, and we recommend ages 10 and up. This is a swimming, walking, and exploring week rather than a kids-club week. There is no children’s programming, no babysitting, and no shallow pool, and a good part of every day happens in open water off the back of the yacht. No two travel groups are alike. Whether you’re traveling as a couple, with children, or with friends, we’ll help you select the cabin configuration that best fits your group’s needs.
How do I reserve a cabin, and when is it actually mine?
Send the inquiry form on this page, then your cabin is held the moment your €1,000 deposit is received. The form itself costs nothing and commits you to nothing. What happens next is that we confirm which cabins are still open, answer your questions, and send you a payment link. Cabins are assigned first come, first served, and there are only eighteen of them on the entire yacht. If you have a preference on deck or location, please let us know on the form.
Is the deposit refundable?
No. The €1,000 deposit is non-refundable, and the charter’s cancellation terms get steeper as July 2028 approaches. That is standard for a private yacht charter, where the whole boat is committed to our group and a cabin cannot simply be resold the way a big-ship cabin can. This is exactly why I tell every family the same thing: buy travel insurance, buy it early, and buy it long before you think you need it. What happens if all 18 cabins sell out?
We start a waitlist, and it is worth being on. Eighteen cabins is the entire yacht, so there is no way to add capacity once they are gone. Between now and July 2028 there is a long payment schedule, and cabins do occasionally come back when plans change. Waitlist families are contacted in the order they signed up. The simple advice I give is this: get on the list even if you are only 70 percent sure, because it costs you nothing and it puts you ahead of the person who waited to feel certain.
How do we get to Šibenik, Croatia?
Fly into Split Airport (SPU), which is the airport Lastavica Cruising recommends for Šibenik and sits roughly 40 to 70 minutes away by road. Zadar Airport (ZAD) is a workable alternative at about an hour. Šibenik has no commercial airport of its own. Most guests traveling from the United States connect through a European hub such as Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, or Zagreb. I strongly recommend arriving a day early. A missed connection should cost you one hotel night, not the yacht. Favorite Grampy Travels can arrange your flights, transfer, and pre-cruise hotel.
Do I need a passport or visa?
US citizens need a passport valid for at least three months beyond the departure date, plus one blank page per stamp, and no visa is required for stays of 90 days or less, according to the US State Department’s Croatia information page. Croatia has been part of the Schengen area since January 2023. One thing to watch: the European Union’s ETIAS travel authorization is expected to be in force well before July 2028, which will add a short online application and a small fee. We will tell you exactly what is required as we get closer. Check your passport expiration date today, not in 2028.
What’s the weather like on the Dalmatian Coast in July?
Hot, dry, and built for swimming. July in Šibenik averages a high near 83°F (28.6°C) and a low around 68°F (20.1°C), with roughly 27 mm (1.1 inches) of rain across the entire month, which makes it the driest month of the year on this coast. The sea sits around 76°F (24.5°C), and that is the part people do not expect. It is warm enough that you stop debating whether to get in and simply get in. Take sun protection seriously: a real hat, real sunscreen, and something long-sleeved for the middle of the day on deck.
How formal is the trip? What should I pack?
There is no formal night. Pack swimsuits, shorts, sundresses, and one nice-but-casual outfit for the celebration dinner. What actually matters most is your shoes. Croatian old towns are paved in polished limestone that turns slick underfoot, and a yacht deck is no place for heels, so bring flat, grippy soles you can walk several miles in. Cabin storage is real but not generous, so soft-sided luggage beats a hard shell. My short list: two pairs of comfortable shoes, a light layer for breezy evenings on deck, and less of everything else than you think.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Tell us early and the galley takes care of it. The yacht’s chefs prepare all 7 breakfasts, 6 lunches, and the celebration dinner on board, and Lastavica confirms the full list of allergies, intolerances, and dietary preferences with us before the charter begins. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and the common allergies are routine for them. They can absorb one or two late additions, but that is for emergencies, not for planning. This is one of the quiet advantages of a 36-guest yacht over a 4,000-passenger ship: the person cooking your dinner knows your name and your restrictions. Put it on your reservation form.
